Jennifer Levitan (ARCT,RMT,MYCC) is a passionate teacher, worship leader, and performer. From an early age, she demonstrated a strong interest and creative sensibility on the piano and began taking lessons when she was 6 years old. Jennifer received her Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto at the age of 18 after studying privately with Mrs. Suzanne Hughes. Jennifer opened her own studio and began teaching piano and theory privately in 1998 in Ingersoll, ON. After moving to North Bay in 2007, she acquired her Music for Young Children teaching certification and began teaching group classes in addition to her roster of private students. Jennifer also began offering study with the Christian Conservatory of Music in 2013. Jennifer is an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher’s Association and has held treasurer, secretary and various sub-committee positions for the North Bay branch.
As a performer/accompanist, Jennifer has played for numerous theatre productions over the last 18 years. She was the accompanist and Director’s Assistant for the Ingersoll Choral Society for 9 years and Collaborative Pianist for the Rapport Singers of North Bay for 4 years.
Jennifer’s passion for music and worship plays a large role in her life. Her ability to play and create music in a variety of worship styles has put her in demand as a church worship leader. In her early teens, she played for a (new at the time) contemporary worship service at her church. She completed one year of formal organ training under Dutch organist John Boone when she was 19 years old and fell in in love with the grand sounds of a pipe organ. Jennifer has been leading congregations, choirs and musicians for the last 20+ years. Currently, she actively serves as the Worship Leader with the Beth Aviad Messianic Congregation.
Jennifer is married to Michael Levitan and they live on Deerpath Farm in Corbeil, ON with their dog Farley.
